Analysing editing on trailer for Memento

On toady's media lesson, we've learned different types on edits, and we've did a small exercise to analyse the edits on the trailer for Memento.

Here's the video

Here's what i've done:

Memento Trailer

This trailer has positioned the audience into the same situation to the main character, for example, there is a lot of transitions in which the screen flashes white and it cuts to the next shot, this could represent how the character wakes up and remembers nothing. There is lots of L-cuts and J-cuts, this could be trying to represent how the protagonist is trying to link together all his memories. The idea of memento is also shown by the non-diegetic dissonance sound of the audio with lots of short cuts on the action, to create a feeling of chaos and confusion. There is also lots of cut aways to show how the protagonist sees his memories, for example, there is a lot of cut-aways when the character remembers something in black and white.
