Types of edits

On today's media lesson,  wee've learned. different types of edits:

Cutting on action:



cutting form one shot to another when the subject is still moving (running, kicking, fighting)


Cut away:




Cutting in to shot and back, could be in the space or not



Cross cutting:





Back and forward between characters, increase tension, show what’s inside the character


Jump curt:




Cuts between the same shot, show the passing of the time, show the level of emergency


Match cut:



Refer to jump cut, use for transition 


Smash cut:



Intense to quiet, or quite to intense


L-cut: 
audio base transition, The sound of the shots continues into the next shot

J-cut: 
The sound of the next shot appears in the happening shot
